Manchester City continues to strengthen their academy for the future, and it is reported that Heaven Kilwa of Aston Villa is set to complete a move to the Etihad Stadium. The 16-year-old winger has completed the necessary paperwork and will join the City academy upon his departure from the Aston Villa academy.

Manchester City Set to Complete Heaven Kilwa Transfer
Fabrizio Romano reported that Kilwa has finalized the formalities of his transfer to Manchester City. The young player was playing for Aston Villa at the Under-18 level. However, his contract with Aston Villa ended at the end of the season.

Kilwa thus became free agent, which allowed him to search for a new place where to continue his development. Manchester City seized the opportunity and became the new club of the 16-year-old player, who is expected to play for the academy team of the club.
Who Is Heaven Kilwa?
Kilwa is an English player who plays mainly on the left side of the attack but thanks to his flexibility, he is also able to play from the opposite side and in a central role.
Before making his debut for Aston Villa's first team, the young player had his beginnings in the club's youth academy and rose through the youth ranks. In all, he featured in 6 matches of the U18 Premier League this season and managed to score two times.
In October 2025, it was a double for Kilwa when he scored once for Aston Villa's U16s and then for their U18s in the same day, which was Yes one of the highlights of his youth career.
Around that time he was one of Villa's most promising offensive talents thanks to the good performances he had displayed in young teams.
Why Did Heaven Kilwa Leave Aston Villa?
After rejecting the scholarship offer from Aston Villa, Kilwa was able to declare free agent once his contract ended.
This did, however, create enough of an opening for Manchester City to sign a talented English footballer without any considerable transfer fee. Kilwa will have the ability to continue advancing in his development at a highly renowned academy in English football.
